Dawning of a New Age with the Taiwan Photon Source

國家同步輻射研究中心已建造完成一座具有低束散度、高同調性之「台灣光子源」，目前正在緊鑼密鼓地建造能提供高亮度與奈米尺度光束的光束線與實驗站，這些設施將可促使台灣科技界在物理、化學、生醫科技、半導體科技、能源與環境科學，及其他各類材料科學等基礎與應用研究上大放異彩。 The National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center(NSRRC) fi nished construction of the Taiwan Photon Source, a light source with a low emittance and a high coherence. Construction of its beamlines and end stations with a high brilliance and nanoscale beams is forging ahead in a feverish pitch. These facilities should foster an environment for Taiwan's academe and technology community engaging in various fundamental and applied research realms, such as physics, chemistry, biomedical technology, semiconductor technology, energy and environmental sciences, and other material sciences to blossom in the future.
