Mostly nurses are the very first expertise to assess the need for emergency care. They could provide effective chest compressions to patients as soon as possible; it can improve patient survival and favorable neurological prognosis. When the rookie nurses perform the first-aid ability unskillful, not only endanger the child's life but also impact their mental accommodation of clinical nursing activity. According to cases study and quality assurance progress, we found unskilled first-aid ability including: lack of first-aid experience, not familiar with the placement of emergency vehicle and the emergency medicine dose, the variety of first-aid equipment, and insufficient carrying out the evaluation of nurses first-aid treatment ability in hospital. The quality assurance progresses are planning two-year duration for rookie nurse division to increase their first-aid treatment completion rate from 33.3% to 86.7%. The quality assurance strategy includes: intermediate training course, multi-disciplinary team work to simulate the reality scenario training, building up emergency drug dilution and drug delivery operation procedure. Evaluation of the effectiveness of the quality of first-aid ability completion rate from 33.3% to 94.4% of new nurses in their two years, enhances the nurse's first-aid domain knowledge and skills, implements self-achievement and realization, and promotes the quality of critical care. |
