The aim of this project was to improve the nursing instruction integrity in nose surgery, enhance patient cognition in postoperative self-care, and to avoid postoperative complications such as bleeding and short-term re-admission. The nursing instruction integrity in nursing staff prior to the project was only 75%, and the reasons were identified as followed: individualized nursing instruction time-consuming, lack of training, lack of standard operating rules and monitoring tools, and instructional aids inconsistent with current situation. After questionnaire, matrix analysis, and literature verification, the following interventions were implemented: group nursing instruction, regular on-the-job training, nursing instruction monitoring mechanism, nursing instruction standard operating rules, and updated nursing instruction video and bulletin boards. These intervention resulted in an improvement in the integrity of nursing instruction from 75% to 100%; an increase in patients' general recognition from 72% to 96%, and an increase in the patients' satisfaction rate from 80% to 97%. In conclusion, the project had successfully achieved its original aim, and effectively enhanced the over all nursing quality and patient satisfaction. |
