The main purpose of this paper is to present new research on the latest brain function of those amphetamine addicts, who have been both physically and psychologically effected due to amphetamine abuse. This paper is motivated by the fact that amphetamine abuse in Taiwan hasn't been well-controlled. While maintenance therapy(methadone) has been used to prevent heroin addicts from the risk of HIV transmission, many public health advocates have ignored the abuse of amphetamine also causes the same risky HIV transmission. Through a variety of statistics, this paper presents amphetamine is currently abused. Meanwhile, a briefing of treatment strategies applied to three amphetamine addicts, whose abuse history varies from one another, indicates how these addicts escaped from difficulties. Finally, we try to share some practical processes and clinical research which demonstrate how involuntary drug addicts in a correctional situation are helped in a correctional institution. |
