世德堂本《西遊記》回目初探

世德堂本「新刻出像官版大字西遊記」（簡稱世本《西遊記》）是現存最早的百回本西遊記，成書於明代萬曆二十年（1592年）。雖然在《永樂大典》及《卜通事諺解》中已顯示出有古本西遊記的存在，但很難推測其回數。至於百回本的《西遊記》其版式很多，如以明刊本為例，可分為華陽洞天主人校本與李卓吾批評本兩類，其中以世德堂本作為現存最早的刻本，則具有歷史性的學術價值。而本文以其「回目」作為探討之對象，主要是因為回目可說是章回小說篇章結構的重要成份，而且也是作者注重修辭之標的處。故本文首先就其回目的對句形式，探討其韻文形式的特色，其次就回目與八十一難的關係，探究其結構安排，最後則從回目的關鍵用語，分析其多仍的思想寓意及其對「文化符號」的運用。 Shidetang the 'official version of the new carve characters as Journey to the West.'
