日本故事選如文字所述,是以日本的民間故事為主。學習者剛學完一年級的基本句型、文法之後,立刻面對句子較長且複雜的文章時,該如何去學習?除了語學的學習外,各個故事裡有其特殊的文化要素,應該如何去讀解,這是指導者該擔負的責任。本論文採自主婦與生活社所出版的『對小孩子說的故事212 話』裡的3 篇故事「浦島太郎」「取下肉瘤的老公公」「白鶴報恩」的故事為例,來探討學習者如何解讀不同文化?本論文將分別從有關《浦島太郎》的時間感覺、「取下肉瘤的老公公」─洞窟的記號、《白鶴報恩》裡的禁忌來探討故事裡的文化要素。
