小冠薰－－台灣一種稀少的唇形科植物

Basilicum polystachyon (L.) Moench a Rare Mint in Taiwan

小冠薰（Basilicum polystachyon（L.）Moench）為唇形科（Lamiaceae）小冠薰屬植物，廣泛分布於熱帶非洲、亞洲和澳大利亞。本種日治時期被發現分布於台灣的南部，光復後未見採集紀錄，根據最近野外採集資料指出本種分布於台灣南部開闊荒廢地。本文描述其分類特徵、照片和分布，並首次報導其為6溝花粉，表面具網狀紋飾且染色體2n=60。 Basilicum polystachyon (L.) Moench belonging to the mint family Lamiaceae is widely distributed in tropical regions of Africa, Asia and Australia. It was first reported from Taiwan in 1929, but because of its rarity, very few specimens have been collected. This paper describes B. polystachyon with color photographs and SEM microphotographs of its pollen grains and nutlets, and provides its chromosome number (2n=60), taxonomic notes, and distribution in Taiwan.
