The objectives of this study were to evaluate the vinegar obtained from Moso bamboo(Phyllostachys heterocycla), as a fungi resistant agent using the steaming treatment, for treating bamboomaterials. The specimens used were Moso bamboo materials that had been processed with either the heattreating or the steaming process. Exposures to two strains of experimental fungi were used, includingAspergillus niger, Trichoderma viride, and airborne fungi particles for 30 min, respectively. From theresults obtained, it was evident that the fungi resistance of the molds on the bamboo surface increasedwith the increased uptake of the bamboo vinegar, as measured by the absorption of steaming period, andthe C/N ratio of fungi inoculated bamboo powder was increased as well. The FTIR analysis obtained that when the bamboos were treated at 180 min of the steaming treatment, no functional groups of therepresentational fungi-chemical compounds, at 1654 cm-1 (C=O stretching vibration) and 1552 cm-1 (N-Hdeformation vibration), were found after 70 days, as well as it was shown that the growth amount of thestrains of tested fungi was lower from the observation of SEM. From these it was realized that after thissteaming treatment bamboo vinegar at least over 23.0% of absorption is useful to restrain the molds ofMoso bamboo materials and that it can obtain an effectiveness of the fungi resistance obviously. 本研究目的係評估孟宗竹材經孟宗竹(Phyllostachys heterocycla)竹醋液蒸汽處理後之抗黴性。試驗用材係採用商用孟宗竹材經蒸煮或熱處理之處理材。抗黴試驗用菌株包括:Aspergillusniger、Trichoderma viride及自然落菌等。試驗結果得知,隨著蒸汽處理時間增長,兩種竹試材對竹醋液之吸收率亦隨之提高,且對於兩種孟宗竹試材表面生長的試驗菌種之抗黴能力亦相對提升,同時各黴菌著生竹材部份的碳氮比亦隨之增加。藉由FTIR分析結果得知,經竹醋液蒸汽處理180min,分別接種Aspergillus niger與Trichoderma viride者於70天後,其1654cm-1(C=O伸縮振動)及1552cm-1(N-H彎曲振動)等代表黴菌化學成分官能基之吸收峰皆未被發現;另經掃描式電子顯微鏡(SEM)觀察得知,黴菌菌絲之生長量亦較低。由上述結果可知,竹醋液經此蒸汽處理後,其吸收率至少於23%以上才有助於抑制孟宗竹材表面黴菌生長,且可獲致明顯之抗黴效果。
