Information literacy plays an important role in promoting individual development and lifelong learning in the information age. At present, the empirical study on information literacy among middle school students is still insufficient and the analysis of causes for students’ information literacy gap is more lacking. Therefore, based on the limitations of existing studies, this study built a research model of influencing factors of information literacy among middle school students by analyzing the multi-level influencing factors. Then, based on the survey, this paper examined the multi-level influencing factors of information literacy of middle school students. The study found that: (1) gender, grade have significant influence on students’ information literacy, computer self-efficacy, and interest in using computer are significantly associated with their information literacy; (2) there is a significant positive correlation between digital resources, mechanism guarantee, teachers’ ICT use in class and students’ information literacy, but schools’ ICT infrastructure and teachers’ attitude towards ICT are negatively correlated with students’ information literacy; (3) parents’ attitude towards ICT is significantly positively correlated with students’ information literacy. In addition, the living environment of the family and the condition of owning ICT equipment are significant associated with students’ information literacy. Finally, on the basis of research findings, this study put forward several relevant suggestions to promote the cultivation and promotion of information literacy in middle school students. |
