As an important part of key competences in the 21st century, information literacy has received extensive attention from all over the world. In the field of elementary education, K-12 students’ information literacy and its evaluating indicators system are hotspots in the current research. On the basis of summarizing the connotation, components, standards framework and evaluating indicators system of information literacy both in China and foreign countries, followed by a SWOT analysis of information literacy for K-12 students in China, as well as suggestions from experts, this study constructed an information literacy evaluating indicators system for K12 students from four dimensions, which are awareness and cognition of information, scientific knowledge for information, knowledge application and innovation of information, and information morality and law. Overall, the purpose of this study is to provide references and implications for the research of information literacy education and the establishment of corresponding evaluating criteria of information literacy for K-12 students in China. |
