Information literacy is an important part of citizen’s core literacy in the 21st century, a foundation of personal learning ability and lifelong development in the information age, and also an important symbol of national modernization and competitiveness. Study on students’ information literacy began in the North American. They have gained rich theoretical and practical achievements. The study firstly elaborated the main concepts of students’ information literacy in the North America, and then made a comparative analysis of assessment framework, assessment tools and assessment contents, which issued by different organizations in the region, summarized distinguished features of assessment practice in North America, and lastly elaborated cultivating mode and cultivating practice of students’ information literacy in North America in details, and its enlightenments for future studies of cultivating students’ information literacy in China. |
