This paper analyzed the concept of sense of community in school and its relationships with teaching and learning. It also presented ways to improve the quality of sense of community in school. Utilizing findings of related literature and master theses advised by the author, this paper 1)explained the meaning and elements of the construct of sense of community in school; 2)showed the relationship between sense of community and teaching and learning in school; 3) analyzed the possible cause factors of sense of community in school; and 4) introduced ways that could be used to enhance the quality of sense of community in school, including improving the quality of principal leadership, cultivating positive school culture in school, and encouraging upward leadership practice from school members. |
