The medical classics and medical history are not only the core of classical Chinese medicine, but also an important foundation stone in its development process. The Chinese medical literature contain multiple identities, it will result in barriers to understanding and practice if we dividing them. This paper attempts to explore the classical Chinese medical view about ''respect for and relying on the ancient'' phenomenon beyond the history and culture, and discusses whether the ''modern'' materials can replace the classic texts completely on medical education ?
Classical Chinese medicine is a comprehensive knowledge of ''mind, heart, body, skills, and feel''. Explore the process of classical Chinese medicine can not ignore the existence about history and theory, awareness and validation. The characterization of ''respect for and relying on the ancient'' phenomenon hide the high standard of internal norms and professional self-expectations in medical community actually, and ''modernization'' of educational materials can not be completely replaced classical frame which covered a wide range of content.
