The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among college students’ parent-child relationship, irrational beliefs and depression. The sample of this study consisted of 621 college students from Taiwan area. The measurement applied in this study included “Parent-Child Relationship Inventory”, “Irrational Beliefs Inventory “, and “Depression Inventory”. The main findings were as follows: 1. There were significant differences in between boys and girls in parent-child relationship and self-downing; however, there was no significant difference between two groups in irrational beliefs and depression;.2. There were significant differences in among four parent’s marital condition groups in parent-child relationship, low frustration intolerance and depression; 3.There were significant correlation among parent-child relationship, and irrational beliefs and depression; 4. Awfulizling, parent-child relationship, demandigness, low frustration intolerance, and self-downing were significant predictors for students’ depression. |
