試探玻里尼西亞文化中心－－兼析南島文化園區之籌建

A Research on the Polynesian Cultural Center-Analyzing the Plan of Constructing the Austronesian Cultural Park

玻里尼西亞文化中心（Polynesian Cultural Center 簡稱PCC）座落歐胡島西北角一隅，地處偏僻，但每年卻有高達約百萬人次的遊客量，經營算是相當成功。PCC可能的成功因素包括：精心的規劃設計與展演，與教會學校楊百翰大學（Brigham Young University, Hawaii簡稱BYU）進行策略聯盟式的建教合作，有效掌握顧客群的市場區隔，建立行銷通路與進行整合行銷，有效的營運績效評估與調整控制，具觀光特性的總體環境等。國際多數學者從語言、民族、考古與遺傳學等研究領域論述，認為臺灣是南島語族最可能的原鄉。其歷史定位將比PCC更佔優勢，值得政府籌建南島文化園區，且對臺灣國際地位的提升亦極有助益。惟南島文化園區的籌建，尚須群策群力，始克有濟。

Polynesian Cultural Center PCC is located remotely in Laie, Hawaii, on the beautiful north shore of Oahu. Over a million people visit PCC each year. The operation of the PCC is very successful. The factors of the success of the PCC includes: well-designed programs, the strategic cooperation with the Brigham Young University, efficiently segmenting the market, establishing marketing channels, integrating markets, effective performance evaluation to adjust the control, creating the macro environment of tourism. A lot of famous scholars stated that Taiwan could be the homeland of the Austronesian-speaking people based on the studies of linguistics, anthropology, archaeology and genetics. From the point of view of history, Taiwan has more advantages than PCC does. To promote Taiwan's fame in the world, the government should build the Austronesian Cultural Park with the advantages. It will take a team effort to complete the project of building the Austronesian Cultural Park.
