Well cleaning of the hospital environment is one of the important interventions to reduce the burden of multidrug-resistant organisms and protect the patient safety. However, the optimal methods to evaluate the results of environmental cleaning remain unclear. This article discusses the association between environmental cleaning and nosocomial infection, and introduces and compare the available methods to evaluate the results of environment cleaning, including visual inspection, microbiological culture methods, and adenosine triphosphate bioluminescence assay. |
