《從城南走來──林海音傳》敘事特色初探

Come from the South-The Biography of Lin Hai-yin' The analysis of the portraying manners

《從城南走來──林海音傳》是台灣當代著名的傳記文學作品之一，作者夏祖麗（1947－）同時也是傳主林海音（1918－2001）的女兒。夏祖麗是國內著名的人物專訪作家，作品多以人物專訪的合輯為主，在報導文學上有不錯的成就。2001年出版的《林海音傳》是夏祖麗首次嘗試的傳記文學作品，之前多從事人物專訪的夏祖麗對於人物的描寫其實並不陌生，但也因為善寫人物專訪的寫作歷程，在《林海音傳》一書中出現了一些不同於一般傳記文學，而別具特色的敘事方式。筆者在閱讀之後，發現書中不斷出現具有報導文學色彩的文字，以及補敘式的敘事方式，因此將夏祖麗在2001年之前的著作與《林海音傳》一書作對照，企圖從夏祖麗的創作歷程中，找出這兩個敘事特色的源頭，並探討這種敘事特色對傳記文學在寫作上的影響。

”Come from the South-The Biography of Lin Hai-yin” is one of the best-known biographies in modern Taiwan. Zu-li Xia, the biographer, who is also the daughter of Lin Hai-yin, is famed as a writer who writes the reports of celebraties. Most of Zu-li Xia's works are the collections of her reports of celebraties, which gained her a great achievement in the field of reporting literature.2011 ”Come from the South-The Biography of Lin Hai-yin” is Zu-li Xia's first try in writing biography. To Zu-li Xia, portraying a person is not hard at all since her experiences of reporting celebraties. Besides, her skills of reporting which she used to use in her writing, bring her readers many different aspects that cannot be found in other writers' works.After reading this biography, I've found there are many words and ways of portraying in this work which would only showed in the reporting literature. Therefore, I compared her works before 2011 to ”Come from the South-The Biography of Lin Hai-yin” 2011 to analyse that how her distinctive manners of portraying affect the writing of biographies.
