The purpose of this study was to examine the restorative perception of environment and place attachment on senior tourists’ psychological well-being. An on-site questionnaire was administered to 398 tourists in Xi-Tou Nature Education Area. Proposed hypotheses were tested utilizing structural equation modeling. The results indicated that restorative perception of environment influenced tourists’ place attachment, in turn both restorative perception of environment and place attachment influenced tourists’ psychological well-being. Overall, the results suggested that restorative perception of environment and place attachment were antecedents of senior tourists’ psychological well-being. Also, tourists’ psychological well-being was formed of the physical environment. Theoretical and practical implications of the findings are discussed. |
