Camping activities change as people have higher income. Scout training was the main focus in the early camping stage. Then came along educational and recreational. Now, the trend has drifted to family camping for leisure purposes. Camping groups have varied from school scouts, camping associations, to families and friends along the years. The rapid camping population increase has led to the changes of camping equipment. They are easier to use, equipped with more technologies. Through the educational and leisure benefits camping has made, camping without a doubt will become a norm in modern recreational development. Camping in Taiwan, in terms of sites and functions, varies in different phrases. This article discusses the tendency through a study into camping development and sites. It has sorted out for the site owners the relevant administrative rules and regulations. Those regulations and rules not only satisfy the public’s need to leisure activities, allow people to have a better use of the environment, but also protect Taiwan’s rich ecological surroundings and bring long term benefits for the neighborhood. Furthermore, they keep the ecological environment sustainable and campers would have safer campsites to meet their leisure demands. It’s a win-win situation for all: the authority, campers, campsite owners and nature. |
