The purpose of this study is to establish a logistic model to predict the likelihood of participation in recreational sports among female college staff. A purposive sampling method was used to target at the intended sample. A total of 500 valid questionnaires were collected from the college campuses located at Pingtung and Kaohsiung areas. Results showed that (1) female college staff who aged under 40, were unmarried, scored high on perceived health, interaction constraints, psychological constraints, social constraints, overall perceived sports constraints, were more likely to be classified in “unintended phase”; and (2) those who aged above 40, were with master degrees, had children, were college teachers, scored high on interaction benefits, physiological benefits, overall perceived sports benefits, social efficacy, psychological efficacy, interaction efficacy, and overall sports self-efficacy, were more likely to be classified in “maintained phase.” Based on the research findings, a tailored strategy can be made to increase the likelihood of participation in recreational sports among female college staff. |
