Reconstruction Research and Comparison of Howard Tower Clocks and Thomas Tower Clocks

古機械的復原研究，是以現有的歷史資料或現存的古物作為基礎，利用系統化的方法，在不違背當代已知科學原理與工藝技術下重新建構此一機械。本論文之目的，在於系統化地進行霍華德機械塔鐘與托馬斯機械塔鐘的機構介紹與擒縱機構比較，並提出一套復原研究程序，有系統地建構古代機械和敘述古代機械原理。

The restoration of ancient machinery is based on the existing historical data or the existingantiquities, using a systematic approach to reconstruct the machinery without violatingcontemporary scientific principles and technological techniques. The purpose of this paperis to systematically carry out the comparison between Howard 's mechanical tower clockand Thomas Mechanical Tower Bell' s introduction and escapement, and to put forward a setof rehabilitation research program to systematically construct ancient machinery anddescribe ancient mechanical principles.
