Chronic abnormal uterine bleeding is a common gynecologic problem, which can result in anemia, interfere with daily activities, and raise concerns about uterine cancer. If pelvic bimanual examination and ultrasonography revealed unremarkable lesion, dilation and curettage (D&C) should be performed for further evaluation and management. However, if the patient did not have experience of vaginal intercourse, both the gynecologist and patient usually are reluctant to take D&C in order to avoid traumatic injury of the hymen. Here, we introduce a successful D&C using serial dilation of the hymen without laceration injury for a virgin. |
