Low back pain is a common complaint for patients presenting to the primary care physicians. Causes of the symptom are numerous, ranging from nonspecific low back pain to potentially life threatened abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). Here we report a case of AAA presenting with chronic low back pain but was treated as degenerative spine disease. We thought this manifestation should be reported because misdiagnosis of such cases could lead to disastrous result. The objective of this article is to provide a review of the literature regarding low back pain with AAA and clinical practice recommendations regarding early detection and diagnosis. |
