We measured the middle finger-tongshencun, body height, body weight, body mass index, the width of wrist, the thickness of wrist, the length of forearm, and the length of chi-fu of 48 healthy medical students to clarify that if the acupuncture point acquisition through middle finger-tongshencun were suitable for all type of BMI and gender. And we use the univariate and multivariate analysis as the statistics. Based on the result, we recommended four suggestions. The first, when the physician and the patient had different gender, the physician could use his or her own middle finger-tongshencun to estimated the patient's middle finger-tongshencun according to the principle of proportionality. The second, when we orientate one acupuncture point according to the principle of proportionality by one's middle finger-tongshencun, we should large it on the female patient body but lessen it on the male patient body. The third, the female population within the group of BMI > 25 and 18.25 <23.5, both hands and left hand respectively, are the most two suitable groups for the application of middle finger-tongshencun. The last, according to the multivariable-linear regression, we got the predictor and its formula of the middle finger-tongshencun, thus, the tongshencun point acquisition through the method of middle finger-tongshencun could be applied to clinical areas and the further relative study. |
