This study aims at exploring the relationship between career self-efficacy and career maturity of students from the department of hospitality in colleges and universities. This study adopts documentary analysis and questionnaire survey as research methods and takes students from the department of hospitality in colleges and universities as objectives. It utilizes convenience sampling, issuing 350 questionnaires. After filtering and deleting invalid ones, there are 315 valid questionnaires. The effective questionnaire return rate is 90%. The research tool is self-made “Self-efficacy and career maturity of students from the department of hospitality in colleges and universities Questionnaire” which includes two measuring scales: “career self-efficacy measuring scale” and “career maturity measuring scale” which has fine reliability and validity. The statistical methods include frequency distribution and percentage, mean and standard deviation, t test, ANOVA, Pearson’s product-moment correlation, stepwise multiple regression, etc. Six research results are concluded as follows: 1. The present status of self-efficacy of students from the department of hospitality in colleges and universities is in medium degree. 2.The present status of career maturity of students from the department of hospitality in colleges and universities is in medium degree. 3. The perception of students from the department of hospitality in colleges and universities has significant difference in self-efficacy under various background variables(school attributes, grades, working experience). 4. The perception of students from the department of hospitality in colleges and universities has significant difference in career maturity under various background variables(school attributes, grades, working experience). 5. There is significant positive relationship between the self-efficacy and career maturity of students from the department of hospitality in colleges and universities. The better the self-efficacy is, the better the career maturity will be. 6. Self-efficacy of students from the department of hospitality in colleges and universities has prediction effect on career maturity. “Self-evaluation” and “data collection” are major prediction variables. Finally, according to the research results, this study proposes some concrete suggestions for the reference of enhancing self-efficacy and career maturity of students from the department of hospitality in colleges and universities |
