In 2007 there were 14,480 confirmed TB cases (63.18 per 100,000 population); representing a 5.8% and 6.2% decline from the 2006 TB cases number and incidence. Gender distribution A total of 14,480 TB cases, and among them 9,980 cases were male (68.9%), 4,500 cases were female (31.0%); the sex ratio was 2.2. The presentation of TB cases by sex continued to reveal a larger number of cases among males (86.03 per 100,000 population) than females (39.76 per 100,000 population). The incidence rate in males was approximately 2.16 times than the rate of TB in females. |
