The 2016 Taipei International Book Exhibition (TIBE) was held between February 16 and 21 at the Exhibition Center of the World Trade Center in Taipei. The NCL set up a display area named “Breaking through and Innovating, Value-added Digitalization” with an image of the entrance to a golden library that exhibited posters and presented dynamic programs. The poster exhibition displayed the results of the NCL’s promotion of public library resource centers, international innovative services, digitalized value-added services, and reading activities in recent years, including “Gold all over: Project for the Resource Integration and Development of Public Libraries,” “Books Are Gold: Reading Promotion: 2015 Taiwan Reading Festival, Reading for the Four Seasons,” “At All Times and in All Places: Digitalized Value-added Services: ATM for E-books, Digitalization of Rare Books, including Digitalization of Complete Editions of Rare Books in the Library Collection, Global Cooperative Digitalization, Establishment of the Union Catalog of Rare Books,” “International Innovation: Taiwan Resource Center for Chinese Studies and Taiwan Lectures on Chinese Studies.” The dynamic programs included 30 activities to introduce the important systems and services of the NCL to participants at the book fair. Professionals both at home and abroad entered the golden libraries in different places in Taiwan to explore the rich library collections and their innovative services. Moreover, “Flying Creativity: Exhibition Hall of Hong Kong” and “Hungary Theme Hall” donated 509 books to the NCL to enrich its collection. |
