K.C. Wong, M.D., Ph.D., a distinguished anesthesiologist, dedicated teacher and great friend to many people passed away because of urinary bladder canner on May 17,2006. Professor Wong was born on November 12, 1936 in Chung-King, Province of Sze-Chwan, China, during the heat of Sino-Japanese war, where he lived until he was brought to Honolulu, Hawaii, the birthplace and home of his father at the age of eight. Dr. Wong told us his dim memory about China, which was a sharp contrast to America both in cultures and in socioeconomic environments. His illustrious academic career in anesthesia did not go off without hitch. With a rather shaky scholastic record earlier, he had to work exceptionally hard later in college in order to get into medical school and step by step he worked toward the goal of his desires and grasped every opportunity as it came about. |
