This study aims to explore the key factors of industry operation and theirinfluences on global logistics through value chain for Taiwan grouperindustry. The main research areas contain Tainan, Kaohsiung and Pingtungand etc. In order to achieve our research objective, this study useseconometric methods apply statistical analysis. Reliability, validity and factoranalysis were conducted by SPSS to extract the main factors of industryoperation, value chain and global logistics. The structural equations modelwas analyzed using the LISREL computer package and path coefficientswere estimated by maximum likelihood estimation for detecting therelationships among these three constructs. The empirical results reveal that the determinants related to industryoperation including production inputs, market conditions, industrial structureand completion strategies and related supporting industries, and the factorsrelated to value chain consisting of main and supported activities wouldactually affect the global logistics for grouper industry in Taiwan.Furthermore, industry operation has significantly positive effects on valuechain creating from main and support activities and in turn, value chain alsohas significantly positive effects on global logistics. Value chain is importantintermediary between industry operation and global logistics. Through valuechain as a mediator, industry operation on Taiwanese grouper industry canwork better on global logistics and effects on global logistics will be larger. Basically, these empirical results can provide the useful information forproduction and marketing suggestions to grouper operators and policyimplication to government agencies. |
