This case indicates that acupuncture stops pain from secondary menstrual cramps. Although NSAID is the primary medicine in clinical Western medicine, it may have side effects in a long term. After having 5-minute therapy of acupuncture at the points of Spleen Meridian, the patient's feelings of uncomfortable belly pain were eliminated. No more uncomfortable feelings were reported in a follow-up interview. From this case, the conclusion is that the therapy of acupuncture has fewer side effects and may replace analgesic as the most safe, efficient treatment for fibroid tumor accompanying with menstrual cramps. |
