英文摘要 |
The purpose of the study was to compare the perceived needs of nurse and non-nurse mothers when their children are hospitalized. Sixty mothers were interviewed using a structured questionnaire in a survey study. Percentage, mean, standard deviation, rank and Mann-Whitney Test were used to analyze the data. The results showed that: (1) “To be called at home about a change in the condition of the child ” was the first of the leading ten perceived needs ranked by nurse and non-nurse mothers; (2) Six of the ranked perceived needs were the same between nurse and non-nurse mothers. The consistency was 60%; (3) Eight needs were significantly different between the two groups. The findings of the study provide useful information for nursing personnel to evaluate their own nursing behaviors and enhance their insights to provide services that are closer to the expectations of nurse mothers when their children are hospitalized. |
