Eight confluent points (including Gongsun(SP 4), Neiguan(PC 6), Zulinqi(GB 41), Waiguan(TE 5), Lieque(Lu 7), Zhaohai(KI 6), Houxi(SI 3) and Shenmai(BL 62))recorded in the《針經指南》(written by Dou Han Qing) are commonly used clinically. Every point not only has its own indications but also can be used in pairs to broaden their clinical scopes and therapeutic effects. These ways which correspond points located around wrists and ankles to trunk and head are developed in Ming and Ching Dynasty. This article infers Eight confluent points' theory and probable mechanism through ancient data reorganization and doctor's clinical experiences. This article also discuss the difference between indications mentioned by these doctors. Last, the therapeutic applications and effects were also included. By these discussion above, we hope to establish the basal mechanisms of Eight confluent points and enrich the clinical applications. potential for relieving atrophic scars and hyperpigmentation. |
