建構電腦化領血作業提升輸血安全

A Barcode-Based, Computerized Blood Product-Releasing System for Improving the Safety of Blood Transfusion

輸血是一項具危險性的醫療處置，輸血安全在病患安全中佔有相當重要的一環。目前在輸血作業程序上的規範已經相當完備，但仍有少數因人為疏失發生輸血錯誤所造成傷害的案例發生。為確保病患輸血的安全，輸血過程與輸血後的監控與通報機制都是安全用血的重要關鍵。本研究目的在研發透過醫院內部網路與電腦通知用血單位領血，使用條碼來交叉核對領血人員所領取的血袋是無誤的，避免領錯血袋的錯誤發生。本系統已實際運用於南部某醫學中心的領血作業，我們希望藉由電腦化作業來執行各項核對與辨識的工作，以確保輸血安全，降低醫療疏失，提升醫療品質與病患安全。

Blood transfusion is a hazardous medical treatment and safety in blood transfusion is imperative to patient safety. Although there is a complete standard procedure of blood transfusion, some adverse cases are still occurred caused by human error. The mechanism of monitoring and informing during the process of blood transfusion are all critical stages to ensure the safe transfusion. The purpose of this research is to develop a computer-aid system which could automatically inform the department which needs blood bags by using barcode to check whether the blood bags is for the right patient. The system we developed is already practiced at blood transfusion in one Medical Center in southern Taiwan, and we expect to leverage computerize procedures to help identification and authentication during the whole transfusion for ensuring transfusion safety, reducing the probability of medical errors, and providing high quality medical care.
