正常世界各國積極採用直接監督短程化學治療策略（directly observed treatment, short course； DOTs）搭配個案管理模式防治結核病，使疫情逐漸減緩之際，國內結核病疫情卻未見改善，甚至成為2000年全國男性十大死因第十位。如何記取他國結核防治計劃成功經驗，建立適合國內之結核防治計劃，是目前國內結核防治計劃中應努力的方向。

While global use of the directly observed treatment, short course (DOTs) with case management model has brought about a gradual slowdown in the tuberculosis epidemic, the situation in Taiwan has not improved, and TB was the tenth leading cause of male death in Taiwan in 2000. We must make efforts to obtain successful experience from other countries in order to establish appropriate plans for a tuberculosis control program.
