Complete kangaroo care (KC) includes mothers holding their infants with skin-to-skin contact and allows nfants self-regulatory access to breastfeeding. The main objective of KC is to provide the optimal extra-uterine nvironment for maternal-infants dyads and promote their mutual adaptation after birth. KC is a kind of edical and humanistic intervention for clinical implementation to stabilize the neonate's physiological development, urther effectively improving maternal-infant attachment. The purpose of this paper is to introduce he theory of maternal-infant nursing and the concepts and stages of KC, and to give some US examples of C cases and guidelines for clinical implementation in Taiwan. |
