The use of mobile nursing station to facilitate the delivery of nursing care can benefit nursing staff greatly. With the rapidly changing technology and healthcare environment, it is importance to understand the manner in which mobile nursing station is used and those end-users' satisfaction. This study performed the investigation to present nursing staff's use and their satisfaction of mobile nursing stations and the reasons for discontinue usage. Two hundred and three nursing staff used the mobile nursing station has completed the questionnaire. Analytic results showed 62% of the subjects responded the adequate compatibility of hardware number compatible with the system, 35% of those indicated insufficient equipment. Overall, the frequencies of weekly usages were between 9.0% and 42.1%, most preferred the function of inquiring laboratory data (42.1%). The average satisfaction of each item was from 3.12 to 3.54. The reasons of discontinue usage were weight and size, battery and ancillary equipment (e.g. keyboards). The mobile nursing station is perhaps still under-used by nursing staff in clinical. Preliminary data can be a reference to make further improvement in meeting clinical requirements. |
