The systematic services of Traditional Chinese Medicine refers to the integration of medical care behaviors, service processes, actors/participants, and devices/equipments through information and communication technologies to develop a comprehensive service solution. It has covered the standardization and digitalization of medical care services related information, as well as the development of intellectual decision support software to generate tailored medical care knowledge to enhance healthcare quality and efficiency. In respond to the government intellectual health care development policy, the discussion has been focused on how to enhance technology and system services development in Traditional Chinese Medicine, by adopting experiences learned from western bio-medical informatics. Considering the informatics and communication technology strengths of Taiwan, the face-to-face interaction between the clinician and patient in the clinical, can be transformed through innovative technology implementation at all levels. Caring by a team and serving by the network could be realized without the barriers of geographic locations and time differences. In the century 21st, it is expected that Traditional Chinese Medicine could be gradually integrated with Western Medicine to provide the ideal comprehensive services for individuals with the assistance of information and communication technology development. |
