哺乳期乳腺炎是常見乳房疾病之一，也是許多哺乳媽媽們的夢魘，除了發燒疼痛腫塊之外，若拖延治療或處理不當會造成嚴重化膿感染，也是哺乳媽媽們被迫提早斷奶的原因之一。目前西醫的診斷雖明確，但過用寒涼的抗生素治療，易使血脈閉阻，反而不利癰腫消散；而中醫治療強調分期辨證論治，結合內服藥及外治法，療效及癒後佳。

Mastitis is one of the reasons for ceasing breast-feeding. In spite of fever, pain and mass, infection is also noted if delayed treating. Although Western medicine has definite diagnosis, long term use of antibiotics will cause blood stasis. Traditional Chinese Medicine emphasizes the pattern identification and has good effect and prognosis by combining external and internal treatments.
