“金匱要略”說“嘔而腸鳴心下痞者，半下瀉心湯注之”。嘔而腸鳴，心下痞者，皆腹診之症狀，并無脈症之陳述，在仲景學說中有很多只有腹症，沒有脈症，即處方用藥，或有腹症并有脈症的診斷。開創了腹診腹証的先例。後人在研究及發揮腹診腹証之治療，也都以“傷寒論”及“金匱要略”作為基礎。

In Chung-Ching Chang's famous book- Synopsis of Golden Chamber, many descriptions only mentioned about abdominal symptoms and then gave the prescription. In these descriptions, no pulse character was mentioned. In Chung-Ching's theory, there were many abdominal disorders only diagnosed by abdominal symptoms and signs.
