The purpose of this study is to understand the relationships between environmental knowledge, environmental sensibility, and environmental behaviors for fifth and sixth graders of a green elementary school in Taipei County. Questionnaire survey and cluster sampling were adopted. A total of 201 effective samples were collected. Five major results are drawn from this questionnaire survey: 1. Although students of the green schools were sensitive to the change of environment and were sufficient in environmental knowledge, they did not have enough positive environmental behaviors in their daily life. Strengthen of environmental behaviors is required. 2. The environmental activities in green schools were monotonous and lack of variety. 3. The students’ environmental behaviors had significantly differences towards on gender, environmental experiences and social-economic status. 4. There were significantly positive correlation between environmental sensibility, environmental knowledge and environmental behaviors. 5. The students’ gender and environmental sensibility explained 42.0% of variations of green consumption behavior. In conclusion, this study provides suggestions for sustainable development education and further studies. |
