Improvement in the Satisfaction with Clinical Education Among Physical Therapy Students

臨床實習是物理治療專業教育中相當重要的一環，也是每位具有專業判斷與解決問題的治療師必經之過程。臨床實習過程中，實習治療師能將過去課堂所學的專業理論及技能，實際參與各種臨床復健實務，並藉由不同的學習經驗去認清物理治療專業在臨床醫學所扮演的角色，來做為未來投入職場的重要依據。提供臨床實習的場所及培養優良的專業人員是醫院的責任，透過良好的教學品質不但可以讓臨床治療師持續進步，並達到技術傳承的目的，同時可以讓正確的專業技能靈活運用於病人身上，使患者能獲得更佳的醫療品質。因此如何提升實習治療師的教學滿意度便成為臨床治療師重要的課題之一了。

Clinical education is an essential process in the nurturing of a physical therapist, because it enables physical therapy students to practice and apply the theories they learn in lectures to real time care of patients in hospitals. The purpose of this study was to apply the quality control circle (QCC) concept to a hospital’s physical therapy program. The goal of this QCC was to increase satisfaction with clinical education for physical therapy students. The circle reviewed the problem of poor satisfaction with clinical education and designed eight methods to improve this situation. These methods are lending computer equipment to on a regular time schedule, submitting questionnaires about satisfaction with clinical education , receiving study feedback every day, formatting a teaching handbook, attending morning meetings in nursing stations, designing a system of rotating stations, inviting a senior clinical instructor and participating in home-¬rehabilitation. After implementing the above improvements, the satisfaction level increased to 1.1from the previous 3.16. The QCC method is an efficient way to improve satisfaction with clinical education among physical therapy students.
