Sampling and Analysis of Volatile Organic Compounds by Thermal Desorption-Gas Chromatography

揮發性有機化合物普遍存在於作業環境及一般大氣中。其中之苯及芳香族化合物由於對人體健康及空氣品質之影響而廣受重視。目前有各種不同的方法用來採樣分析這些化合物存在空氣中的濃度。以主動式採樣器配合熱脫附──氣相層析之採樣分析法具有如下之優點：（1）樣品不需前處理；（2）不易受溶劑汙染之干擾（3）吸附管可重覆使用。本方法適用於大氣及作業環境之採樣分析。

Volatile organic compounds are commonly found in the air of working and general environment. Benzene and other aromatic hydrocarbon compounds are some of them. They are widely studied due to their effects on human health and environmental quality. There are many different methods to sample and analyze these compounds in the air. The advantages of using active sampling coupled with the thermal desorption-gas chromatography are the followings: no pretreatment for samples; free of interference from contaminants in the solvent; and the sorbent tubes can be re-used. The concentration range of this method is enough to cover the need for sampling and analysis in the air of working and general environment.
