Trade associations are a type of intermediate civil organization between governmental and civil organizations, similar to the third sector in nature. In recent years, as cross-regional governance prevails, a portion of trade associations remain their role as an early-time advocacy group, while some trade associations cooperate with the government and actively invest in public participation. The objective of this study is to investigate the cross-regional governance theory and the organizational characteristics and functions of trade associations. Following literature review, we used the New Taipei City Architects Association as the case subject. Based on the data announced by the association’s official website, we compiled the public safety recheck schedule commissioned by the government for the recent 3 years to analyze the public participation situation of the association. |
