待與客

Host and/as Guest

本文援引海德格《存有與時間》中，對於等待與期待的觀察，以及這兩者與死亡的關係，嘗試瞭解德希達「待客」之道中，屬於純粹與絕對的面向。並藉由閱讀貝克特《等待果陀》裡上吊的皮帶，卡謬《瘟疫》中茫漠的雙眼，以及西蒙斯科幻小說《赫庇里安》中臨終的微笑，探討若所待者為非人之客，其中所透露的神秘，與純粹待客之道的關係。

This paper is meant to tackle the absolute and pure hospitality in Derrida by reading the couplet of expectation and anticipation in Heidegger’s Being and Time. The discussion will has as its focus the mystery in welcoming a non-human guest and its relational significance to pure hospitality through a reading of literary texts that encompass Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot, Albert Camus’ The Plague, and Dan Simmon’s sci-fi Hyperion.
