Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a mathematical programming approach for characterizing the relationships among multiple inputs and multiple outputs. It has long been used to evaluate the efficiency of non-profit sectors which emphasize multiple outputs. This paper focuses on a study which uses an innovative data envelopment analysis (DEA) model to evaluate the efficiency of Taiwan s medical regions. Our findings indicate that only 50% of the medical regions in Taiwan s medical network were efficient for the efficiency model in the 1998-2001 period. |
