Measuring Efficiency of Taiwan's Medical Regions

資料包絡分析法（DEA） 是用來探討多重投入、多重產出問關餘的數學規 劃法。長期以來，資料包絡分析法均被用來評估非營利部門的效率，而這些 部門所強調的正是多重產出的問題。本研究旨在以資料包絡分析法來評估台 灣地區醫療資源綱計畫下，各醫療資源發展區的資源配置效率，而研究結果 發現1998至2001 年期間，台灣地區醫療資源綱下的各醫療區域只有50% 的區 域其有效率性。

Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a mathematical programming approach for characterizing the relationships among multiple inputs and multiple outputs. It has long been used to evaluate the efficiency of non-profit sectors which emphasize multiple outputs. This paper focuses on a study which uses an innovative data envelopment analysis (DEA) model to evaluate the efficiency of Taiwan s medical regions. Our findings indicate that only 50% of the medical regions in Taiwan s medical network were efficient for the efficiency model in the 1998-2001 period.
