The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of hospital material logistics in a medical center. The efficiency of material service can effect health care employee's satisfaction. A descriptive study investigate the relationship between hospital material logistics and satisfaction. Using the structure questionnaire and accurately rate of teams, to detect the efficiency of material logistic. The structure questionnaire used are a demographic data, manpower operational procedure the amount of space and storage. Data analysis were from a proposal sample of 26 head nurses 61 staff nurses and 26 clerks, who had participated the material logistics from July 2001 to May 2002. Twenty eight units involved in this study which consisted of general units intensive care units and non-in-patient units. Using total accurately rate, Chi-square. Fisher's Exact test and Wilcoxon rank sums test to analysis data, results showed the mean score of total satisfaction of material service in manpower was 15(2.2(range from 4-20), operational procedure was 57(7.35(range from 15-75), the amount of storage was 19.35(2.5(range from 5-25), and space of storage was 7.4(1.24(range from 2-10). The mean score of head nurse's sample in manpower (P<0.05)were greater than the mean scores for the staff nurse's(P<0.05)and clerk's(P<0.05). There were significant differences that the satisfaction of head nurse in the order cycle, material quality, and ordering procedure were greater than staff nurse's and clerk's(P<0.05). Non-in-patient units had higher satisfaction than ICU and general units, specially, in the order time, emergency order service, operation of stockout had significant differences(P<0.05);moreover increasing space utility, low cost, and higher satisfaction material stock. Comparing pre and post implementation hospital material logistics, there are reducing material stock one hundred fifteen million NT dollars; out of stock rate is 0.29%; 10 employees; 1795 square feet of storage space; increasing the accurately rate of quality(99.8%). The results of this study have identified important predictors affect the efficiency of hospital material logistic service. |
