Avascular necrosis of femoral head patients received total hip replacement more likely to experience loose joints and needed revision hip prosthesis. This case reported the nursing experiences of a patient with avascular necrosis of femoral head received total hip replacement. The caring period was from September 4, 2013 to September 10, 2013. The Gordon's functional health assessment guide was used to assess nursing problem through history taking, physical examination, interview, and observation. The nursing problems being identified included acute pain, risk for suicide, and impaired physical mobility. Nursing intervention included taking deep breathing, and keeping suitable position to decrease pain. To educate the knowledge of preventing infection, arrange rehabilitation exercise in order to maintain muscle strength, and promote self-care ability. This experience provided nurses with a reference for caring similar patients in the future. |
