The aims of the study were to explore the operation mode of patient education and patients’ education needs at OPD in a regional hospital. The design of the study was depending on the findings of “Patients education survey in primary medical local clinics” in 2005, they had found out that the major education needs of patients were disease education, treatment education, medication education and home care education. Research method: Using patients education flow sheet checklist, based on physician’s prescription on health need to do health education at OPD. The results are as follows: (1) the mean age of OPD patients are 58.05 years old. (2) the patient aware of the educational model was different from the clinic before and other medical clinics. There are 79.3% of patients accepted the educational model, 58.6% were needed, 69.0% were useful, and 70.7% were helpful in their daily life. But there are 30.2% of patients spent more time taking the educational model. (3) they will return to clinic if necessary (87.9%) and to suggest relatives and friends when they need medical check up (82.8%). (4) in terms of occupation status exhibited a difference significantly. Therefore, this essay reveals that the OPD patients can accept the operation mode of health education in this regional hospital. |
