Over a period of time, due to stress, the turnover rate of nursing personnel has been rather high. The motive of this study was to investigate whether the job rotation system would encourage nursing personnel to understand, relate and share the vision of the organization, consequently increasing their job satisfaction and stimulating them to willingly remain in their jobs and commit themselves to the organization. Despite the fact that there have been plenty of domestic studies on job satisfaction, very few were addressed to the relationship among nursing personnel’s job rotation, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment. 450 questionnaires were distributed to the nursing personnel of two medical centers in Southern Taiwan, in order to explore the effect of nursing personnel’s job rotation on job satisfaction and organizational commitment. With a valid return rate of 66.7%, 300 valid questionnaires were used in this study. The results provide that job rotation indeed enhances the job satisfaction, and job satisfaction also increases the nurses’ commitment to the organization (that is, job satisfaction has positive mediating effects on nurses’ job rotation and organizational commitment). |
