This study used grounded theory to analyze the transcripts from the interviews with samples including two physicians and two nurses selected from a medical center in Northern Taiwan, and discussed the models of knowledge sharing among physicians and nurses. The results show that the types of knowledge sharing can be divided into two categories for physicians and nurses, i.e. the formal and the informal. The formal knowledge sharing includes conferences held in working sites or annual workshops out of hospitals. Types of informal knowledge sharing consist of coincidently running into to conduct an inquiry during duty-off time and voluntary consultation among colleagues. Secondly, the knowledge sharing among physicians would be limited to those of the same rank or the communication between the senior and the junior. The interaction among physicians and nurses is the one-way knowledge sharing, while the contents mainly base on disease condition discussion and physicians’ prescription, yet it had scarcely seen extra professional knowledge sharing occurring. |
